Photography, as Wikipedia defines it, is the science, art, application and practice of creating durable images by recording light or other electromagnetic radiation, either electronically by means of an image sensor, or chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film. ast October 1, photography for photography hobbyists was not just about taking pictures. It aimed to contribute to a bigger cause. On that day, photography enthusiasts in Cebu gathered and took part in the ninth Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photo Walk.
The Worldwide Photo Walk (WWPW) is the biggest photography social event that was set up in 2007 by Scott Kelby, the president of KelbyOne, an online educational community for photographers, Photoshop and Lightroom users.
It is a social photography event where photographers get together (usually in a downtown area or trendy section of town) to walk around, shoot photos, and have fun with other photographers. After the walk, each participant has the opportunity to submit their best photo into a contest.
During this occasion, participants from different camera clubs and photography enthusiasts, from all over the word will simultaneously walk around the streets and just capture interesting scenes that they come across.
One of the participating groups was the Lumenars Photography Club, the official host of the annual Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk here in Cebu. The group held the Photowalk in Bantayan Island Cebu.
“It was a successful photo walk. A time well spent with fellow photography enthusiasts who we’ve considered now as family. We took this event as an opportunity to go out to the unbeaten path and take street photography outside the city to showcase Cebu’s beauty and share it to the international participants of the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk community.” said Emmanuel Sawit, President of the Lumenars Phototography Club Cebu and the one who led the groups’ Photowalk.
The Annual Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk by the Lumenars Photography Club Cebu was made possible by Ceasar Azanza of Macys Camera Shop and Ryan T. Go of F8 Photo. To get to know more about the group, check their Facebook Page, Lumenars Photography Club Cebu.
