Taking place annually during the first full week in October, Customer Service Week is an international event celebrated across different countries throughout the world.
Industries involved are from the finance, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, retailing, hospitality, communications, not-for-profit and educational organizations, as well as government agencies and a variety of other entities. The theme that the Customer Service Group has chosen for Customer Service Week 2016 is “Service Champions,” reflecting the vibrant role representatives play in creating a positive experience for each customer, even in sometimes difficult situations.
The International Customer Service Association started customer service week in 1984. This aimed to better job of providing high quality goods and services by listening to its employees and by empowering them with opportunities to make a difference. In other words, the emphasis is on the employees – listening to them and empowering them to take care of the customer.
