Artists,gamers,cosplayers,exhibitors/collectors and (trading card game) TCG players came together in one roof for the ARCHcon 2016 last October 29 and 30, 2016, at the Robinson’s Galleria Cebu. ARCHCon stands for Animation, Role-playing, Comics and Hobbies Convention.
It has been 12 years ever since ARCHcon was formed as an event to provide the people yearn for for “Japanimation”. Through the years, ARCHcon increasingly evolved as an event for artists, gamers, cosplayers, exhibitors/collectors and TCG players specifically in Cebu. In fact it has enticed other enthusiasts from neighboring regions and even from Manila.
The mindfulness of toys collectibles and hobby-related items has had a fabulous consequence on Cebuano’s for the past years. They enthusiastically buy these collectibles, sign up for workshops, join groups that participate in games related to these, and a lot of people still appreciate one of the simplest forms of entertainment a kid and kids at heart can enjoy, and that is watching cartoons.
ARCHcon aims has been an open venue where people will be able to gather and have fun with their hobbies. This was evident on the two-day event especially on the large attendance and the seemingly indefatigable number of people who congregate during the different activities of the said event.
Hobbies Display, Tournaments, Costume Play (Cosplay) Computer Gaming Digital Drawing Contest and many more were held on the yearly event. The proceeds of the ARCHcon will be given to the Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu Mission / Christmas Drive.
