Chan Lim Family of Artists and Students showcase Western and Eastern Art Fusion

In time for the Chinese New Year, the Chan Lim Family of Artists and Students made an exhibit that was launched with a free painting workshop members if the press, bloggers and the public last January 21, 2017 at the SM Seaside City Cebu Mountainwing Atrium.


The exciting part of the press conference was an actual demo of  the Chinese paintings  by one of the masters of Chan Lim Family, Mr. Alex Chan Lim using watercolor.Members of the Press and bloggers were not the only one who tried the workshop because over a hundred others were also given the opportunity to get to stroke the brush facilitated by Alex Lim Chan with the help of the family members and his students.


For more than four decades now, the Chan Lim family has been involved in the arts.The Family Chan Lim Family  mastered the art of western painting  using oil and watercolor. The Chan Lim siblings, Alex, Felix, Rolex and Rolex are all engineers by profession and are actively engaged in Multi-national companies. Because of their passion for the arts and as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility, The Chan Lim Family has conducted several art classes and workshops and on the spot painting demonstrations.


The family has joined several art exhibits both local and international. The 3rd generation Chan Lims follows the footsteps of both the family patriarch and their fathers in harnessing their artistic talents. As of this writing, the family has already staged 13 family painting exhibits.


The Chan Lims also support several charitable institutions with special focus on environmental sustainability.  The passion of Chan Lim, the family patriarch, lies in Oil and Watercolor. While most of his art are on canvass, he has forayed into other media such as porcelain plates, Asian lanterns and fans to infuse Western techniques into the traditional Eastern Art.


The “Chan Lim Family of Artists and Students: An Exhibit of Chinese and Western Paintings” ran from January 21 to February 5 at the Mountain Wing Atrium of SM Seaside City. Visit to know more about Chinese and Western arts introduced by Chan Lim himself.
