Less privileged but deserving Cebuano youth as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle will banner the holding of RC Goldline Half Marathon Year 3. This is also in partnership with the Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) that will happen on September 3, 2017.
RC Goldline president Christian Paro-an, his wife and general manager Desiree, CCSC chairman Ed Hayco, Commissioner Allan Delantar and race director Joel Juarez of Coco Running formally launched the event in a Press Conference last August 10, 2017 at the Golden Prince Hotel and Suites. This year, the foot race will start and end at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
“All proceeds of this race will be given to the Cebu City Sports Commission. This is our way to help the city program and help the less privileged children in Cebu City,” Paro-an said in an interview with members of the Press. The race, Paroan added is considered as the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility event, in time for its 20th year anniversary next month.
Event categories include 3K, 6K, 12K and 21K races both for Men and Women.Foreign runners will have a different category but cash prizes will be only go to the top finisher in every category, while the top three local finishers in every category will get cash prizes. Apart from the cash prizes, winners and finishers alike will be given medals, gift certificates and finisher’s certificates and are entitled to win prizes in the raffle draw.
Registration fee is pegged at P350 for the 3K race, P500 for 6K, P600 for 12K and P700 for 21K. Students, senior citizens and persons with disability will get P100 discount. Registration centers will be at the selected RC Goldline outlets and main office, Toby’s, Runners and Cebu City Sports Center. The proceeds of the event will be given in full to the CCSC, to be used for its grassroots development program, especially to the Guba Elementary School Running Club.
